The Sunday after Thanksgiving, the new pastor, Matt Poole, at our neighborhood church, First Free Methodist Church in Seattle, issued us a "gratitude challenge" this week. He said one would be easy and one would be a little harder. First he asked us to write a list of 10 things for which we are thankful. No problem.

Yes. It was "Dr. Doolittle"! And the winner of the first Needle Pulling Thread contest is Kathy Harris of Cottonwood Creations. The 1967 Christmas movie won an Oscar for it's most memorable song, "Talk to the Animals." "Here I Stand" was actually dubbed by voice talent Dianna Lee for Samantha Eggar the female lead. Kathy's prize was a fabulous fat quarter bundle of Ella Blue fabrics from Australia!
